Informed Decisions, Inc. (ID) is a small business incorporated in the State of North Carolina in 1997. Since its inception, ID’s mission has been to focus its work on helping people and institutions, in both developing and developed countries, to understand the importance of using data for better decision making, and using data for policy analysis, planning, monitoring and evaluation. One of our main efforts has been to develop computerized tools that are easy to use by nontechnical users, help them access data directly, and be able to analyze the data with little or no direct intervention by Information Technology professionals.
We have developed tools for making Dynamic Hypercubes from any relational database, and an easy to use program, VIEWCUBE for interactive analysis of these hypercubes. We have applied these tools both in the US and in several countries: Bolivia, El Salvador, Ukraine, Jordan, Barbados. They have been applied to census and survey data, and incorporated into complex information systems like the Health Information Systems of Bolivia, El Salvador, Ukraine and Jordan, as well as complex surveys like the National Long Term Care Survey in the United States.
Currently we are developing a variety of datasets in Dynamic Hypercube format, which are sold with the browser VIEWCUBE. This provides an easy to use, inexpensive and light tool for disseminating data and making it accessible to all kinds of users. VIEWCUBE allows you to make your own tables with any of the variables in the Dynamic Hypercube, perform interactive graphical analysis and make informed decisions.
