Informed Decisions,
Inc., is pleased to offer to the
Ukrainian community in the United States, as well as the general
public, some basic statistics on persons of Ukrainian ancestry, from
the U.S. 2000 Census of Housing and Population and the 2005 and 2006
American Community Surveys (ACS): Tables. Data are from the five percent Public Use Microdata Samples (PUMS5) from the census and survey data, produced by the U.S. Bureau of the Census (BUCEN). As these are samples, the numbers are not exactly equal to the official numbers based on the complete census. In general, the differences are quite small and, as with every sample, the smaller the subpopulation the larger the sampling error. Persons of Ukrainian ancestry constitute only 0.3% of the total U.S. population; thus the number of official BUCEN tables with data on Ukrainians is very small. PUMS5 are the only data source one can use to generate detailed tabulations on persons of Ukrainian ancestry for the whole country, States, cities, counties and Pubic Use Microdata Areas (PUMAs). Your comments on these data are welcomed: olehw@aol.com. Informed Decisions, Inc. can provide detailed statistical analysis of Ukrainians in many Metropolitan Areas (with relatively large numbers of persons of Ukrainian ancestry). See List of Cities and Analysis for details. |
